[00:00:24] Natalie: A solopreneur, and you're just kind of looking to be in a business community and you are within Canada, I highly recommend that you go Google 'em and you know, you can just join and see if their programs are of any interest to you. They have like a lot of different things, newsletters, they have in-person events, they have like weekly virtual connects.

[:

[00:01:09] Natalie: But they didn't exactly have the experience I was looking for. But sometimes, you know, you learn from people from different areas. Anyway, so I wasn't too picky about that and I was like, ah, okay. Like, we'll see what it is. After the second session I was. Like, I don't think you quite get what I am about.

[:

[00:01:45] Natalie: Like, I remember hanging up the call after the third call and being like, this is just not it. And it's hard sometimes because you're like, but I've already made a relationship. Up with this person, like how do I just walk away? But then you have to just choose yourself sometimes. And I'm like, Natalie, what is the point of having the mentor?

[:

[00:02:16] Natalie: Uh, that's a reference for, well, the people who understand the reference will get the reference, but anyways. So, um, yeah, I had to just send her an email in the most appreciative way and respectful way I could and say, you know, I'm really appreciative of getting to meet you, um, and for the time that you've spent so far with me.

[:

[00:02:59] Natalie: And so anyways, yeah, I just had to say, you know, I don't think this is the best. Fit based on where it is I am trying to go with my goals, but I really thank you for, you know, the time and all, all that I've learned for you. And I had to cut ties. And I remember sending the program coordinator an email and saying, I'm so sorry, but this is just not gonna work.

[:

[00:03:38] Natalie: I'm not getting the strategy that I'm looking for. I'm not getting. Even like the energy, like I felt like I was carrying the call, but there wasn't much being offered back, not because. That person didn't want to offer back. But I just think like, I just don't think I was the best fit for where, what the kind of support that they can offer.

[:

[00:04:20] Natalie: I just, I'm lucky for just strategy and support. So, uh, yeah, we, you know, we parted ways and let me tell you, my new mentor though, oh my gosh, guys, she's amazing. Her name's Julia. She actually, I'm gonna link her in the show notes in case she's a business strategist. So in case you wanna hire her, uh, highly recommend.

[:

[00:05:06] Natalie: Like, I talked to her like two hours ago and I'm still happy because I just feel like she gets me. I feel like she is genuinely, um, invested in my success and just genuinely cares to help me grow and has a lot of wisdom and a lot of strategy. So it's a just a good fit for all that I needed. So yeah, if you have to part ways with somebody part ways, don't know what I'm gonna call this episode, but whatever you take from it, take something.
