[:

[00:00:30] Natalie: And they can't even just do what you need them to do. And I've really come to realize that we need to extend even more grace to people than we probably want to. Because I'm just realizing that the capacity of people to change, the capacity of people to acknowledge wrongdoing, the capacity of people to take responsibility, and the capacity for people to improve.

[:

[00:01:32] Natalie: And if somebody does not have that capacity, they just don't have it. And all you can do is hope, pray, and wait to see if they ever do get that capacity. And one thing you can do while you're hoping and praying and waiting is you can continue to advocate for yourself. And you can continue to advocate for your needs.

[:

[00:02:22] Natalie: Bye. If that hasn't happened yet, there's no point holding your breath

[:

[00:03:47] Natalie: This really takes some time and this actually takes deep work to be able to just truly almost like give someone a pass and accept that they're doing the best that they can, even if that best is not the best that you would expect from them, but it's the best that matches the capacity of where they are currently at.

[:

[00:04:24] So, think about your capacity and think about the capacity of those around you. And hold one in each hand and accept that sometimes you might be disappointed and it's okay. Prepare for it and embrace it because sometimes that's reality. And make sure you do whatever you can to support your well being and take care of yourself when you have to deal with the disappointment of someone else not having capacity because that can be a really tough pill to swallow.

[:

[00:05:30] Natalie: If they can't be true to themselves, how can they be true to you? These are the ponderings and questions that we have to reflect on.
